What to expect as a Patient
X-Rays are a type of radiation called electromagnetic waves. These are harmful if exposed to a high amount over a long period of time and it is always advisable to limit your exposure to them. However, these are essential in diagnostic radiology as they are the primary modality in imaging bones and chest. These are one of the cheapest modalities in Radiology.
For X-Ray examination, you will be asked to remove all metal objects including phones from your clothes. If required, patient gowns will be provided for you.
Some studies require an empty stomach and will be conveyed to you by our radiographer.
You may be asked to lie down or stand against a plate and remain still for a few seconds.
If you are pregnant or think you are, please inform our radiographer and consult your doctor before proceeding with the study.
